Overview

AJEM is the for-profit consulting arm of Dr. Alexis Jemal’s life’s work, connected to the nonprofit Briar Patch Collaboratory (BPC). AJEM CONSOLIDATED LLC is the consulting and program design studio of Dr. Alexis Jemal. Rooted in her signature framework—Soulcial Work Praxis—AJEM provides transformative consulting, training, and curriculum development services to organizations committed to justice, equity, and healing. AJEM works across disciplines to design participatory action research initiatives, facilitate arts-based and trauma-informed workshops, and build strategies for community engagement and organizational change. Whether it’s co-creating anti-racism leadership training, developing healing-centered curricula, or mentoring social impact entrepreneurs, AJEM supports clients in aligning their work with a vision of collective liberation. In partnership with its nonprofit counterpart, the Briar Patch Collaboratory (BPC), AJEM transforms ideas into practice—serving both institutional clients and historically marginalized communities.

Core Consulting Services

Participatory Action Research (PAR)

AJEM leads community-centered research that transforms lived experiences into actionable knowledge. Our approach prioritizes co-creation, cultural humility, and the disruption of extractive research practices. Findings don’t sit on shelves—they spark healing, strategy, and collective action.
